Fitspot is hiring an experienced and passionate HR Director who will continue the growth of our business by developing an environment where Fitspot attracts top talent and our employees can do their best work. As HR Director, you will drive and support all company-wide employee initiatives and people operations, including partnering with leadership to cultivate and champion our culture and core values. You and your team will be responsible for talent acquisition and development, engagement and culture, learning and development, benefits administration, compensation, HR systems and HR compliance for a team of 12 employees and growing.
The ideal candidate should not be afraid to roll up their sleeves, be hands-on, and have that no-task-too-small mentality. This person should be an expert on most areas of human resources while simultaneously being involved in the details of ongoing programs and daily operations. Mission and Strategy: Work with executive team to set and execute on organizational design and lead long-term vision for Human Resources – creating and maintaining a high-performing, motivated, and impactful team aligning with our overall business goals.
Recruitment Process: Partner with department leaders and People Ops team to understand and anticipate hiring needs to deliver business objectives. Streamline recruitment process to effectively meet workforce needs.
Performance Management: Create and implement a company-wide performance management program that helps us identify high and low performers, promotes and rewards excellence and drives continuous, transparent feedback across all disciplines.
Leadership Training & Learning and Development: Develop methods to retain our organizational culture across a distributed and diverse workforce.
7+ years of applicable People/HR experience in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
Eagerness to join an early-stage startup and build it from the ground up
Experience building and scaling people operations at a high-growth company and knowledge of core HR functions
Flexible yet thoughtful in your strategic decision making, striking the right balance between advocating for our employees and our business
Ability to demonstrate complete discretion and confidentiality
Ability to foster relationships with all levels of staff
Excellent communication, mediation, and interpersonal skills
Experience building processes, systems, and programs for recruiting, performance management, training, and professional development
Expert understanding of US employment law and regulations (especially in New York and Texas), compensation, benefits, organizational development, employee relations, and manager training
Well-rounded capability across the full HR spectrum (talent acquisition, development and training, compensation and benefits, performance management, talent management)
You have experienced the endless challenges and opportunities of organizational growth and development (preferably in the startup world)
You have the proven ability to influence and drive change with executive teams and across organizations, aligning the people strategy with business goals and maintaining effective relationships with employees
You offer strategic, data-driven, and forward-thinking approaches to tactical and operational issues within the organization
Strong computer skills – Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
