Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Licensing, the Manager, Global Licensing will be responsible for the day to day management of one or more assigned regions, direct clients within those region(s) and agents operating within the assigned region(s) as well as developing the overall business opportunity – in cooperation with the agents – for the assigned region(s).  The Manager, Global Licensing will work closely with the Sr Director in driving direct IRONMAN Group owned licensing revenues globally across key categories.  This includes developing licensing leads in product categories including fitness equipment and accessories, athlete health and nutrition, athlete healing and personal care, branded sporting goods, apparel & accessories, stationary & gift, connected devices and electronics as well as other new business opportunities within the assigned region and globally.
The Manager position requires demonstrated knowledge of the Consumer Products business, brand management/development, consumer marketing, licensing and/or retail product marketing. Candidate will develop the research and independent outreach of sales efforts for licensing initiatives in key territories. In addition, the Manager will work closely with internal departments (and in some case with event licensees) for the integration and promotion of licensed products and activation of licensing partners across sponsorship, partner activation, merchandise, e-commerce and marketing teams.
SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·       Manage the day-to-day management of existing licensees and agents in assigned territories (whether direct licensees or supporting the product approvals and compliance of licensees brought to us via our network of Agents).  This includes regular email communication, weekly, bi- monthly or monthly conference calls to address product development, reporting, sell in and sell through, marketing plans (including tradeshows and in-store plans) as well as review and approvals of all marketing materials and products, maintenance of internal databases as it relates to clients and updating and upkeep of all client facing materials.
·       Develop new business opportunities and leads for the expansion of the IRONMAN brands in consumer products businesses in assigned markets, product categories, retailers and clients and deliver on financial goals (demand generation, lead capture, closing, extension/expansion)
·       Work with Sr. Director to develop strategies for market growth through new channels of distribution/retail, new product segments and new markets with existing clients
·       Work to gain a comprehensive understanding of the target clients/prospects
·       Ensure deal terms are negotiated to the best of your ability while creating a win-win long term partnership
·       Prepare proposal templates for licensees in accordance with company policy and in preparation for legal department
·       Where applicable, work with regional sponsorship teams as well as event licensees, where applicable, to ensure incremental revenue opportunities are assessed and captured
·       Develop and execute licensing and retail marketing support programs in conjunction with our business partners and work with Partnership Services to ensure colleagues are aware of Licensee’s activities and licensees’ sponsorship programs are activated on
·       Ensure that administrative support of assigned client management is in compliance with contractual obligations and maintain internal databases and client facing materials for assigned clients (together with other manager on the team) including:
·       Schedule conference and regular status calls, based upon account size – to ensure ongoing communication and proper account management and ensure partner satisfaction
·       Maintain product development database and ensure on-time response of licensee’s product development process across marketing and licensing team while providing innovative solutions to product development and application of our Intellectual properties. Maintain product books.
·       Maintain licensing databases (legal, contact and financial) and provide weekly/monthly/quarterly reports regarding Licensee compliance (business plan, reporting, forecasting, ILS/FAMA, insurance certificates, anti-doping compliance, FCPA compliance, sell-off etc.)
·       Maintain all sales support materials and onboarding materials ensuring on-going accuracy
·       Obtain financial reporting and forecasting from clients and review for accuracy and where needed work with clients to make changes
·       Work with Licensing team and creative team to implement the development of any new graphic standards or style guides where needed
·       Drive thought process with clients to develop and execute marketing programs that will promote our events, brands and licensed products
·       Assist Sr. Director in managing financial P&L and budgets
·       Assist Sr. Director in working with internal business units to ensure core brand principles and attributes are inherent in licensing programs, and to leverage assets and expertise within the company to deliver integrated marketing/promotional programs in assigned territories
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
·       3-5 years of experience of the Consumer Products business, brand management/development, consumer marketing, licensing and/or retail product marketing sales with a Sports Property background strongly preferred.
·       International experience.  Some understanding of European retail and licensing.  Asia and Oceania experience is a plus.
·       Demonstrated experience in developing successful client relationships from lead generation through closing
·       Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
·       Experience and knowledge of licensing, product development and retail distribution particularly in sporting goods, drugstore, food, specialty and mass channels across Asia and Oceania.
·       Experience in negotiating licensing relationships
