As a Senior Data engineer you work with the team towards building solutions and tools to process large amounts of data. You are a hands-on engineer with a business sense and able to discuss data topics with business stakeholders, like the product and the marketing teams.
Within the data team we strive to use the latest state of the art technologies and tools with AWS, machine learning technologies, or other automation tools, and you will be given the freedom to define and apply best practices to help Freeletics becoming a data driven company.

Your responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain all aspects from how data is collected and processed to data reporting and analytics
  • Build and maintain scalable, real time, Big Data systems with minimal maintenance effort
  • Work together with analysts, data scientists and other stakeholders across teams to fulfill their data needs
  • Create a data pipeline with excellent data quality and availability
  • Import data from various external and internal sources, including big data platforms or non-relational databases
  • Apply the best tools to make things automated as much as possible and fast on infrastructure level

Your profile

  • 3+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling and schema design You have developed or been part of delivering data product within a heavy user product
  • Experienced in designing and launching new and existing ETL processes and models in production
  • You possess a deep knowledge of data structures and algorithms and understand their impact while building data pipelines
  • You have a hands-on experience preferably in Python or Java
  • You built and deployed a large scale distributed data systems
  • You took part in designing, tuning and maintaining production systems
  • You have exposure to AWS data services and technologies (Glue, Kinesis)
  • Excellent communication skills
